the background is part of a long image that was supposed to serve as background for 3 double spreads:

the watercolour scenic sketch the set designer made for the stage backdrop:

(photo of a detail of the stage set model)

the house of the robbers, photo taken on the rehearsal stage.

and the actors:

the donkey:

the cat and the dog:

katzehund.jpg

i only used the bottom part of this, because the director decided aftewards that she did not want the cockerel to wear the knitted vest in any of the shots ...

so i had to take one with him, again:

... and the robbers: Kalle and Palle. :p

it is "my" intendant's birthday tomorrow (do you say "intendant" for the boss of a theater? it sounds so un-english ...)

i made a composite for him, using a portrait shot, titled, "Intendant, musing over the season's repertoire".

Just have to share a pic of one of my favourite Christmas gifts. It's a portrait of Koda by my niece Eden. Although it's done in a Warhol screenprint style it's a painting -

I wouldn't have a hope of painting something like this now, let alone when I was a kid.

:hey:

i was crafting today :knit:

got allover Martha-ish with cutting and folding, taping and stapling, no glue  but stickers :oh: and little ribbon loops to shut the darling boxes :manic:

they are to put small wrapped treats in, to take to the art group on Thursday (the antithesis of my other presentation, on the work of Dora Maar :photo: )

definitely not art, and not much craft  but fun:

i took the ball of yarn my sis-in-law gave me, and made a pair of almost-glove-thingies out of it while at my sister's:

uschi.jpg

it was easy and a lot of fun, and i already bought some red yarn () for a second pair :manic:

the other day when i was at my sister's i took a couple of pics of our childhood dollhouse - she has renovated and furnished it, building most of the furniture herself, and it is so lovely:

the boy's family has a tradition of swapping home made gifts for christmas and this year he had to make something for his cousin's baby.. and needed something sendable.. so we made a bunch of wool finger puppet animals  they all look incredibly stupid but sort of cute.
