i *SEE* you

VERY good that you all helped your sister to make the right decision.  And poor, squirrel-tormented  :dackel:

There's really very little i have to do away from home at the moment - grocery shopping - i had gotten paranoid a couple of weeks ago and stocked up on Ms. Spoiltpaws' kibble  and canned food,  and ordered 4 bags of her premium litter from Chewey's.  And fortunately, i had taken out enough from my retirement plan during January and February to see me through a normal year's expenses, with some left over.  There are only seven confirmed cases in our county at the moment, but very little testing has been done - we don't have any handle at all about how many light, undiagnosed cases may be wandering around.  Our local tribe was one of the first to shut down their casino operations - as sovereign entities, they don't have to go by what the state decides.  AND they are paying all of their employees for the closed period.

Ahem, to change the subject - our little corner of the Northwest is experiencing another invader from out of state.  A bunch of noisy sealions, probably from California, have been hanging out around Indianola, attracting a lot of attention at the dock.  When they 've stuffed themselves with fish, they start barking to entertain each other.  And you can hear them half a mile away, so some relatively inland residents thought they were having auditory hallucinations, until everybody in Indianola told everybody else in Indianola the sealions were real.

their cousins gather on the rocky beach nearby to "chat"  :wail: :wail: :wail:  (bark-bark-bark, they repeat themselves  )

Mackie

so it is a Level 3 Travel Advisory, airline tickets will be refunded(instead of the airline getting away with 'credit for a future trip' and for those whose jobs are affected, the Employment Bureau will process their unemployment benefits within a week, instead of 6 weeks. this will greatly help a niece ( among plenty other folks fo course), for the time being, an unemployed hair stylist. the little place in Sooke where i buy :kitty: Kibbles announced we can phone our order, pay by e- and pick up oustide their store at an agreed time. they will bring to the vehicle.

I had ordered printer inks, looked out the front door this morning, and there was the package placed just so, as if the delivery person was sorry not have to knocked on the door to hand over the package directly. I like to think :kind:

Yes, sounds a lot like what is going on here, too. Shops are trying to stay afloat and to supply customers with their needs, the government tries to make things as survivable as possible.

One thing that is really weird: Shops are closed, except for grocery stores and all other food related stores, gas stations, drugstores - and hairdressers …?? Really, what's that about? Since when are hairdos essential? Very weird.

So nice about your printer ink, bess

Ta!

that is weird hairdressers being essential   here the 2-metre rule is in place, if a non-essential retailer (including :fuzzy: :p ) can't provide 2 m. personal space for each customer and staff, it must close. kinda difficult to do someone's hair from 6 feet away...  restaurants are closed unless they offer take-out. many have switched from dine-in to delivery. keeps a different work sector busy :yes2:

the printer and i do not like running out of ink

printers without ink tend to be very grumpy. :duck: Luckily I bought a good supply of ink just a few weeks ago

We try to get better internet connection for the office so Migi can go and sit there; his phone connection isn't too good at home (ground floor in a place among big houses ...) and he would like to be able to go "home" after work.

I am lucky in being used to working from home. A lot of people are having difficulties to adjust, and for people with small children it really is hard.

Once a routine is sorted out it is better.

Yes on all counts - and good luck on the better internet connection :crossed:

And for the life of moi, cannot comprehend why hairdressing could be considered essential
