One more set for now, including a swamp lily from the marshy bit down the road.

We had an exceptionally wet January down here, and i  suspect BC might have had one as well.  A lot of the blooming trees here are looking spectacular, and some things that have never bloomed all that well in the past are doing great :crossed:

glorious!

the wildflowers have been good here (of course the Councils are not doing as much mowing!) and the blossom on the may trees like foam...

Our down time has been good for Nature

When Parks BC closed the campgrounds, the one near us had a cougar family move in :silly2:  :smart:   well it made sense to them :p

Of course it made sense - cougars are cats, and cats are always opportunists.

:oh: amazing!

Yes, nature had a bit of a respite those past months. It's still thrilling to look up and see a blue sky without any airplane trails …

In other news: I sowed fire beans (no idea what they're called in English, edible beans with bright red blossoms, using them for a quick bit of green vines) and thought they were not coming out - until I realized the slugs ate every bit of green the second it showed! :grumpy:

Put the pots someplace  high and now they are growing alright  :greenthumb:

:grumpy: to :snail:

yay the beans are ok in the pots! we call them Scarlet Runners  and I put some in pots, too. but a :snap: bug was in the soil, the new leafs look too lace-y :flake3:. i'm :crossed: that as the plants grow, erm, *if* the plants grow, they will outgrow whatever is eating them.

wishful thinking   :crit:  :sigh:
