Has anyone heard or seen anything from Jude and family at all? :s She hasn't posted on Facebook in ages and I am really worried. I sent Kate a friend request on FB, but I'm not sure she'd have a cue who that is, so she might ignore me.

oh, and hi :manic: :hey:

I am a bit caught up in - tadaaa!! uncluttering. :p Not sure if I told that I want a craft space under my bed? (It's a loft bed. so breathe ... :p ). So now I am sorting through the books on the shelves there, all of them art books (coffee table books) and cook books. I have to get rid of some because I have to reorganize the shelves so I can put a table next to them without having books where I cannot reach them anymore..

I think I got rid of about 4 ft of books so far; some I gave away, some I threw away and some I am selling. Also other things ... Everything in the bedroom is being sorted and decluttered. A very liberating activity  but it is time-consuming.

Also, I had a bit of trouble and have been to the dentist four times in ten days. a piece of bone poking through the tissue in my mouth, irritating the tongue, very weird, my dentist couldn't make head or tails of it (not that I wanted head or tail in there  :duck: :runaway: ). Eventually she sent me to an oral surgeon (yesterday) who had no clue how this is happening, either, but he literally sanded the bone down so the tongue is left in peace, and he thinks the soft tissue is going to grow over it again.

:crit:

I hope so. :p My tongue, at least, is a lot happier now.

But yes, all that has kept me offline a bit.

örgs to weirdness needing figuring out   - very glad that has been resolved :yes2:  and :jump2:about the decluttering space renewal project

I read a good phrase for these interesting times: "Find forgotten things that make us happy!" I have been doing a lot of that lately

As well was sidelined to knit a doggy jacket for the niece's French bull terrier/Boston terrier (both the same? I don't know)

Daisy :1flower: does not like the rain, maybe a layer of wool will help.

Have not seen anything from Jude. There was something at Matt's page in August for his birthday though not directly from Jude, from other family.

I have been looking for a pattern for a dog jacket that fits a rather long doggy, and it's really hard. I seem to be unable to make a pattern myself; tried twice - once it was too roomy and too long and the second time it was too tight. :wail:

Oh yes :roflmao: Found a few art books I had no idea I possessed :p :oh: and quite a few I realized I do not want anymore. Especially older ones - when you look at them these days, it's jarring to see that most of the images are black and white. Found a lovely old one my parents bought some time in the sixties, though, with colour prints carefully glued into a monochromous printed book. I dimly remember it was a really expensive book; small wonder, when you consider the labour that went into it. Printing has come such a long way since then.

i just called the number i have again and got voicemail again; so i left a message saying basically that i, aka Goli, was trying to reach Judith aka Jude, to let them know that we at the Fort, in England, Germany, British Columbia, and Washington, are thinking about them and hoping they are well, etc. :crossed:

Trying to declutter isn't going too well here.  i was trying to get rid of books, until i decided just to start cataloging again and keep them someplace other than in piles on the floor for now.

It's such a hassle to get to GoodWill to get rid of anything now, that i stuck a heavy-ass candelabra in the back of the hall closet for now.  My project trying to trace genealogy has resulted in box (down from two of them) on the floor in the downstairs bedroom aka catch-all area.  Sigh.

The dog coats sound lovely

The pattern I have fits a back length of about 30 cm. and about 37 cm. around at widest if that helps any.

I need to hold a tape measure to :dackel:

Goli, if I hadn't so many way at hand to get rid of stuff, I wouldn't get it done. Aside from a free-for-all on our mail boxes in the hall I have a place where Ican drop clothes and shoes, books and entertainment media usually are picked up if Iput them in front of the door and those that bring a few cents I sell at momox. I have an app to scan the bar code, it tells me if they buy it and at which price, I add enough to habe a 10 EUR sale (minimum), they send a pdf of a label and i can send it with no cost.

I was rather amazed to see that two of the books I want to get rid of actually bring a bit of money. :oh: (An older cookbook from the 80s and a book about a GDR photographer who specialised in soft focus classic nudes. Boring as hell. :sleepy:  ). Scanning the books actually is a bit like a treasure hunt

Just hopping in for a moment, here - when i got back from grocery shopping, there was a message from Jude, i called her back, and it seems that they are fine, now, after a lot of bad/anxious moments.  Some of their friends/acquaintances weren't so fortunate, and like so many wildfires. there wasn't a lot of rhyme or reason to which places burned and which didn't.  They did not have to evacuate, and didn't panic and leave anyway - which i gathered a few people did.  Kate and her husband are fine, but taking precautions to stay away from people who are being stupid.  Jude has been making afghans and asked how we are doing. We didn't have a chance to talk at great length, but they are all okay.
